This week Jitterbug (5.5) finished his second Explode the Code book, Get Set for the Code. This is part of the primer series, it’s a pre-ETC book. It covers beginning sounds. He is moving through these quickly, it has been less than a month since he finished the first book in the series.
He wanted me to take a picture of the ‘j’ he made out of silly putty. 😉
A page like this one is toward the beginning of each letter introduction. Jitterbug often chooses to colour the new letter one colour and then colour all the others different colours.
Sometimes he chooses to colour on the pages, sometimes he prefers to just circle the answer. Depends on his mood.
The last page of the book. I give him the option of using stamps if I sense he is tired of writing. He didn’t use them often in this book, only on a few pages. Notice that next to the picture of a hotdog below he put an ‘s’ for sausage. That’s what we have here instead of hotdogs, I kept having to remind him when he was doing the ‘h’ section.
On to Book C, Go for the Code!
