On our first day of school we completed our First Day of School booklets. It occurred to me that they needed a new cover for the new year, so I updated that. It also occurred to me that it might be nice to have different cover options so that they don’t all look exactly the same, so that’s something I’ll have to do for next year. I also might have to come up with one that is a bit more exciting for older kids, although it was nice to see Skeeterbug do it on his own while I helped the younger two.
In the interest of not embarrassing my kids too much I’ll just show a couple of pages for each.
They had great fun doing their handprints and footprints. I found some cheap paint pads at a discount store and bought them in all the different colours. It certainly made this process easier. It’s great fun to ask them the different questions and hear their answers. The ‘when I grow up’ question always makes me laugh…Skeeterbug wants to be a pizza maker(!), Jitterbug wants to go to work with Dada, and Ladybug wants to be a mama. Ah, sweet kids. You can download the printable booklet here. (Will update the cover at a later date.)
