We laid out the cards according to the chart, then matched up the definition cards (not in this picture).
We wrote all the phases down on our paper.
Then we did our best to separate the cookies and remove icing as needed. We used a popsicle stick to gently scrape the icing off. We weren’t going for perfection here. (Or for cleanliness, apparently.)
I did the writing for Jitterbug, but believe me he was very involved in the icing removal process. He was our best Oreo cookie separator.
And he was so excited. Oreos are a rare treat for us.
Skeeterbug’s finished project.
As for me, I miss Golden Oreos. They were my favourite but I haven’t seen them here in Australia. You’ll notice that Ladybug is conspicuously absent from these pictures, we did this while she was asleep. But we saved her some cookies, of course!
ETA: Wouldn’t you know that on the very day this posted I found some Golden Oreos at the supermarket? They have an Aussie flag and Olympic rings on the package and are marked “Go for the Gold!”. The cashier had never seen them here either. Craving satisfied! 🙂
